Dr. Sashank Reddy

Biography

Sashank Reddy is an associate professor and vice chair of research at Johns Hopkins University, specifically in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. He serves as the associate director of the Institute NanoBioTechnology and acts as the medical director for Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures. His clinical expertise encompasses craniofacial reconstruction, facial aesthetics, and headache surgery, alongside his practice in plastic surgery. Reddy directs a research laboratory focused on regenerative medicine, investigating the mechanisms of regeneration and homeostasis in skin and the development of nanomaterials to support tissue regeneration and cell therapy. An accomplished entrepreneur and biomedical innovator, he advises faculty and university administration in enhancing the impact of discoveries through corporate partnerships. He received his undergraduate degree with honors from Johns Hopkins University and completed his M.D.-Ph.D. studies at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His residency training was completed at Johns Hopkins/University of Maryland integrated plastic surgery program, followed by a craniofacial fellowship at the Johns Hopkins R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in July 2018.
