Biography

Saskia Kohlhase is an Associate Professor at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. She conducts research on the economic and societal consequences of taxation and environmental, social, governance (ESG) regulation. Her work focuses on the effects of taxing cross-border economic activities, as well as the impact of tax incentives on loss-making firms and how tariffs affect transfer pricing. Additionally, she investigates corporate social responsibility reporting in public and private companies. Her research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of International Business Studies, and Journal of Business, Finance & Accounting. At RSM, she teaches and coordinates the master elective 'Taxation' and the bachelor course ‘Financial Tax Consulting’. In her academic career, she has served as a reviewer for several international journals and is an editorial board member for Accounting Business Research and European Accounting Review. Kohlhase obtained her PhD from the Vienna University of Economics and Business in 2016, with her thesis focused on Financial Reporting and Taxation. She received the “Nürnberger Steuergespräche” award from the tax advisors association in Nuremberg for her outstanding work in the field.
