Dr. Saskia Ruth Lovell

Biography

Saskia Ruth-Lovell is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Radboud University. Her research focuses on the impact of clientelism and populism on various facets of representative democracy, particularly in Latin America. Ruth-Lovell holds a Diploma in Latin American Studies and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Cologne, Germany. She has worked as a Postdoc at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Additionally, she was a Research Fellow at the GIGA German Institute of Global and Area Studies, with a focus on the Institute of Latin American Studies in Hamburg, Germany. In the winter term of 2018/2019, she served as an interim professor at Goethe University Frankfurt, stepping in for Prof. Dr. Brigitte Geißel.
