Biography

Saskia Wieringa is an Honorary Emeritus Professor at the University of Amsterdam, specializing in women's same-sex relations and cross-cultural studies within the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. Wieringa chairs the International People's Tribunal on the 1965 crimes against humanity in Indonesia and is actively involved in projects documenting the testimonies of survivors of the genocide. Currently, she supervises PhD research on female masculinity in China and cooperates with various organizations, including the Australian National University, on decolonizing sexuality studies.
