Dr. Satadru Dey

Biography

Satadru Dey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Pennsylvania State University. He has a robust academic background, having obtained a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics Instrumentation Engineering from the University of Kalyani in 2008, a Master of Technology in Control System Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 2010, and a Ph.D. in Automotive Engineering from Clemson University in 2015. His research interests focus primarily on Energy Systems, Sensors & Controls, and Transportation Systems. He explores topics such as smart cities, energy storage systems including batteries and supercapacitors, connected autonomous vehicles, and cyber-physical safety and security. Over the years, he has contributed significantly to various journals and conferences, publishing numerous articles on state-of-charge estimation, cyber-attack detection, and thermal fault diagnostics in lithium-ion battery systems. His work aims to innovate solutions to pressing issues in energy needs and transportation systems, aligning with the goals of the Mechanical Engineering Department at Penn State.
