Biography

Saul Purton is a professor at University College London specializing in Algal Biotechnology and Structural & Molecular Biology. Purton joined University College London in 1991, where he has held various positions, including lecturer from 1991 to 1996, senior lecturer from 1996 to 2001, and reader from 2001 until he became a professor in 2015. His research interests focus on harnessing algal metabolism for biotechnology applications, with a commitment to sustainable development goals, particularly in health and water sanitation initiatives. Over the years, he has contributed significantly to the field through research and teaching.
