Dr. Saurabh Trivedi

Biography

Saurabh Trivedi is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group, focusing on developing financial solutions for renewable energy investments. His work examines risk factors in climate finance strategies that accelerate clean energy adoption. As a Sustainable Finance Specialist at the Institute for Energy Economics Financial Analysis (IEEFA), he led projects involving econometric assessments of electric mobility policies in India and conducted carbon market price simulations and policy analyses. Saurabh co-authored papers that were official inputs to the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group during the Brazilian Presidency and evaluated financing mechanisms for the low-carbon transition. Previously, he served as a Senior Analyst in the Climate Finance Team at the Climate Policy Initiative (CPI), where he published research on climate finance methodologies and quantitative analysis. As a key member of the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance, he analyzed and designed innovative financial instruments aimed at unlocking private and public investments in clean energy. Saurabh earned his PhD in Climate Applied Finance from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia, where his research examined the relationship between carbon risk management, bond short selling, and credit default swap spreads. His work has been presented at international forums and cited by institutions such as Stanford University and the United Nations Environment Programme.
