Biography

Savtaj Brar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto and serves as the Program Director of the General Surgery Training Program. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Western Ontario and completed his residency training in General Surgery at the University of Calgary. In addition, he obtained an MSc in Health Economics, Policy and Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science in London, UK. His clinical interests focus on gastric cancer and soft-tissue sarcoma. Dr. Brar has undergone extensive training in surgical oncology, including a two-year fellowship at the University of Toronto, which involved specialized training in gastric cancer surgery at the Cancer Institute Hospital in Tokyo, Japan. He has also worked as a Research Fellow in Surgical Oncology at the University of Toronto.
