Dr. Saya Segal

Biography

Dr. Saya Segal is a Urogynecologist specializing in care for women with pelvic floor weakness resulting from conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse and bladder dysfunction. She is part of a network that supports the pelvic structures of women, addressing issues that can arise from factors like aging, childbirth, and obesity. Dr. Segal provides comprehensive care, offering a range of treatment modalities including robotic, abdominal, and vaginal reconstructive surgeries, as well as medical and surgical treatments for urinary incontinence. Her training as a physician and epidemiologist has led her to conduct extensive research focused on improving outcomes for women facing urogynecological issues. She has studied pelvic floor disorders across various age groups and compared the outcomes of surgical and conservative treatments. Dr. Segal has received board certifications in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin, a master's degree in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania, and her medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Her residency was completed at New York University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Segal joined NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medicine in 2017 as an Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
