Dr. Sayar Munshi

Biography

Sayar Kumar Munshi, MBBS, MS (General Surgery), MCH (Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery), is currently serving as a Visiting Instructor in the Department of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery at Stanford University. He completed his medical education at the Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (IPGME&R) in India, followed by postgraduate training in General Surgery at Calcutta National Medical College. He further specialized in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery through a postdoctoral fellowship at Nilratan Sircar Medical College, India. Dr. Munshi has gained extensive clinical experience, having worked as an Associate Consultant in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery for four years at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi. He pursued advanced fellowship training in Congenital Cardiac Surgery in the UK and served as a Senior Clinical Fellow at Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool, focusing on Congenital Cardiac Surgery. Additionally, he has experience as a Clinical Fellow in Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery at the Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital and underwent further training in Cardiac transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle Tyne. Dr. Munshi is a member of the MCHRI and Cardiovascular Institute, contributing to innovative research and clinical practices in the field of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery.
