Biography

Schalyn Sohn, CPA, serves as an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Accounting department at the Smeal College of Business, Pennsylvania State University. With over 10 years of teaching experience, she also directs the Integrated Master of Accounting Program. She has held various positions, including Faculty Advisor for the Accounting Society and MAcc Program Student Association. Schalyn graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame, where she received numerous awards including the Academic Excellence Award and the Federation Schools Accounting Student Achievement Award. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Accounting with High Distinction at Penn State University, receiving the Senior Award: Dorothy M. Kelley Memorial Scholarship. Before her academic career, she worked as a Senior Accountant at General Dynamics and as a Manager in Regulatory Reporting at E*TRADE Financial. Additionally, she holds a U.S. patent for a parenting product awarded in April 2014.
