Biography

Scott Burkhardt is a graduate of Columbia University’s School of the Arts, where he was a Dean's Scholar. He has received grants and support from New Line Cinema, the Milos Forman Foundation, the Caucus Foundation, and the Carole Robert Daly Foundation. His thesis film, 'Assistant,' won multiple awards and was nominated for a Student Academy Award. The film aired on PBS and Hulu for five years. His works have been showcased in film festivals worldwide, winning the 2021 Grand Jury Prize for Narrative Short at IFF Boston and the 2022 Humanitas Prize for Short Film. Additionally, Burkhardt has written for television, contributing to NBC’s 'Smash' and developing shows for NBC Universal and CBS Studios. Currently, he is focused on writing and directing projects in television and film.
