Biography

Scott Crawford is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cedarville University, followed by a Master’s and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining UW-Madison, he completed postdoctoral training as a NIH-funded TL1 Postdoctoral Trainee at the Department of Orthopedics & Rehabilitation and the Badger Athletic Performance Lab. His research mainly focuses on the biomechanical properties of tissues and their changes due to musculotendinous injuries, aiming to enhance the understanding of tissue properties to optimize and accelerate healing. Through his work, he intends to inform evidence-based approaches to injury prevention and rehabilitation. His research output includes various publications in reputable journals that contribute to the fields of athletic training and biomechanics, particularly related to muscle injuries and recovery techniques.
