Dr. Scott Damrauer

Biography

Scott M. Damrauer is the William Maul Measey Associate Professor of Surgery II at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. He specializes in vascular surgery and has held numerous key positions at the University of Pennsylvania, including Vice Chair of Clinical Research in the Department of Surgery and founding member of the Cardiovascular Outcomes and Quality Evaluative Research Center. Dr. Damrauer’s contributions to vascular surgery extend to various hospitals, including the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he actively performs surgeries. He is also involved in critical research initiatives at the Penn Cardiovascular Institute and the Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics. His education includes an MD from Harvard Medical School and extensive post-graduate training in surgery and vascular medicine. Dr. Damrauer's research interests encompass genomics, health equity, and the integration of advanced analytical methods into clinical practices, aiming at improving patient outcomes in cardiovascular health. He has collaborated extensively on studies improving disease prediction and therapeutic targets based on genomic analyses.
