Biography

Scott L. Diamond is the Arthur Humphrey Distinguished Professor of Chemical Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and the founding director of the Penn Center for Molecular Discovery. He has produced over 250 publications and patents and has served on advisory committees for organizations such as the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institutes of Health (NIH), American Heart Association (AHA), and NASA. Additionally, he has extensive consulting experience with both industry and government. Dr. Diamond is a recipient of several prestigious awards including the NSF National Young Investigator Award, the NIH Award, and the AHA Established Investigator Award. He is also a recipient of the AIChE Allan P. Colburn Award and the George Heilmeier Excellence in Research Award. His professional recognitions include being elected a Fellow of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). Currently, he serves as the Director of the Penn Biotechnology Masters Program, which is the largest in the country with more than 120 enrolled students.
