Biography

Scott Dodelson is a Professor in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Chicago. His research interests primarily focus on fundamental physics and the analysis of data from cosmic surveys. Dodelson has contributed to the development of a remarkably successful cosmological model that incorporates dark matter, dark energy, and inflation. His work aims to extract information from increasingly sensitive surveys to understand new physics related to questions such as the nature of dark matter and dark energy. He has served as co-chair of the Science Committee for the Dark Energy Survey and is actively involved in the LSST Dark Energy Science Collaboration, working with data from the South Pole Telescope.
