Dr. Scott Eggener

Biography

Dr. Eggener’s clinical research interests focus on improving management outcomes for patients with localized prostate cancer, with a specific emphasis on active surveillance, focal therapy, and optimizing surgical outcomes. He has published extensively on prostate cancer, contributing to 75 peer-reviewed publications and working on topics such as PSA screening, surgery, prostate imaging, and the various treatment modalities for prostate cancer. He serves on the editorial board of four journals, including Prostate Cancer and Prostatic Diseases. Dr. Eggener completed his education and training in urologic oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and a general urologic surgery internship and residency at Stanford University School of Medicine in California. His research activities include funding for a NIH Phase II Trial on MR Guided Laser Ablation for Prostate Cancer, where he serves as co-principal investigator. Dr. Eggener's contributions to the field are recognized through numerous collaborations and citations in clinical guidelines and related literature.
