Dr. Scott Greer

Biography

Scott L. Greer is a political scientist and Professor at the University of Michigan's Department of Political Science, specializing in health management policy and international relations. He has a Ph.D. in Political Science from Northwestern University, obtained in 2003, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, achieved in 1996. Greer has held the position of Senior Expert Advisor on Health Governance for the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. His research primarily focuses on health policies, particularly the political dimensions of these policies within the European Union, federalism, and healthcare systems. He has published extensively, with over fifty book chapters and articles in esteemed journals including the British Medical Journal and the American Journal of Public Health. Some of his notable works include 'Everything You Wanted to Know About European Union Health Policies but Were Afraid to Ask' (2014) and 'Strengthening Health System Governance: Policies for Stronger Performance' (2015).
