Biography

Scott Jackson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University. He holds a Ph.D. in Aeronautics with a minor in Geophysics from the California Institute of Technology, which he obtained in 2005. Prior to his doctoral degree, he earned an M.S. in Aeronautics from Caltech in 2000 and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Brown University in 1999. Professor Jackson's research interests focus on shock detonation physics, energetic materials, combustion, explosions, and propulsion. He has contributed significantly to the field and has received numerous awards, including the Los Alamos National Lab Distinguished Performance Award in 2012 and 2017 for various team contributions, and an Artistic Merit Award at the Central States Section Combustion Art Competition during the 12th National Combustion Meeting in 2021.
