Biography

Scott Ledger is a Postdoctoral Fellow whose research primarily focuses on viral infections and their associated treatments. He received his PhD from the University of New South Wales in July 2016, where he concentrated on the application of various therapies for treating viral infections. His postdoctoral work involves investigating the use of small interfering RNA (siRNA) to treat acute SARS-CoV-2 infections and employing lentiviral gene therapies to address and manage HIV infections. Additionally, he is researching the impact of siRNA on viral infections such as HTLV-1, HPV, and EBV, which are relevant to virus-caused cancers, specifically cervical cancer linked to HPV. In recognition of his research contributions, he was awarded the Kirby Emerging Investigator Award in 2021.
