Biography

Scott MacInnes is a prominent musician and educator with a rich background in performance, conducting, composition, and arranging. He became a leading figure in the musical community upon joining the Victoria Symphony in British Columbia as a bass trombone player in the fall of 2005. He later joined the University of Victoria as an instructor and simultaneously engaged with the Vancouver Island Symphony (VIS). As the Principal Bass Trombone of VIS, he takes pride in performing as a soloist and chamber musician. At UVic, he teaches private trombone lessons and runs a Business Music course while conducting various ensembles including a big band and a brass choir. Scott is also active in community building as the Artistic Director of the BC Brass Collective and the Meridiem Wind Orchestra. A founding member of the iTromboni, North America's professional trombone quintet, and the Pinnacle Brass Quintet, he frequently collaborates with esteemed colleagues to deliver high-quality music to a wide audience.
