Scott E. Page’s research focuses on the role of functional diversity in complex social systems, potential collective intelligence, and the design of institutions that can navigate the challenges of a complex world. He is the author of more than one hundred research papers and five books spanning various fields including game theory, economics, political theory, sociology, psychology, philosophy, physics, public health, geography, computer science, and management. In 2019, he was awarded the Distinguished University Professorship at the University of Michigan and has been elected as a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences. Page co-founded and currently co-edits the interdisciplinary academic journal, Collective Intelligence. His notable publications include "Model Thinker," which won the Choice Award for an outstanding title, and the award-winning book "Diversity Bonus," published by Princeton University Press. Moreover, he has received the Guggenheim Fellowship and has been a fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. He holds a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan, an M.A. in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin, and a Ph.D. in Managerial Economics and Decision Sciences from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School.
