Scott Pavetti is a faculty member in Carnegie Mellon University’s Master of Software Engineering professional program. As a software quality engineer, he developed quality plans, software development plans, conducted requirements workshops, and architected products. He also holds patents related to indoor positioning and associated methods. With years of experience as a Community Practice Leader in Software, he worked with 50 engineers in Germany to develop practices and share knowledge. He has trained engineers in software architecture, design, requirements, and testing practices, understanding that a successful software engineer requires more than just technical ability but also leadership skills. Scott earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in Software Engineering (MSIT-SE) from Carnegie Mellon University. In his free time, he enjoys bicycling on roads and trails across the rural Pennsylvania landscape and practicing landscape photography.
