Biography

Joining Dalhousie University, Scott Pruysers previously held a postdoctoral fellowship at Ryerson University and completed a SSHRC postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Calgary. He has served as an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University. He earned a PhD from Carleton University, an MA and BA from the University of Waterloo. His research focuses on Canadian politics, with specific interests in intra-party democracy, party organization, political psychology, and electoral politics. His work has appeared in well-regarded journals including Party Politics, Political Research Quarterly, and the Canadian Journal of Political Science. Recent books authored by Pruysers include 'Political Party Canada' (UBC Press, 2022) and 'Personalization in Democratic Politics' (Rowman Littlefield Press, 2018).
