Biography

Scott Sawler has over 30 years of experience in the regulated health product sector, having held various prominent positions including President of the Canadian Regulatory Affairs Drug Safety Institute. He served as Director General (DG) of Health Canada's Marketed Health Products Directorate (MHPD), the entity responsible for conducting risk/benefit assessments of marketed health products and developing effective regulation policies. Scott also led the Natural Non-prescription Health Product Directorate (NNHPD) during a critical transitional period, where he successfully re-established strategic vision and overhauled policies to streamline management systems and put the program back on track. His expertise encompasses clinical trial management, government, and regulatory affairs, with extensive involvement in pharmaceutical companies, health professional associations, and non-governmental organizations.
