Biography

Scott Steedman is a Senior Lecturer in the Master of Publishing program at Simon Fraser University. With over 30 years of experience in the publishing industry, Scott has held editorial roles in prominent organizations, including the British Museum, Musée d’Orsay and has worked with major publishers in the UK, France, and Canada. His career highlights include being an Editor at Dorling Kindersley in London and Senior Editor at Larousse in Paris. Additionally, Scott has served as Editorial Director for Non-Fiction at Raincoast Books and Associate Publisher at Douglas & McIntyre in Vancouver. He has authored and edited numerous books, including bestsellers and award-winning titles such as 'Visions of British Columbia,' which received the City of Vancouver Book Award. He won the CBC's 2012 Canada Reads competition with 'Something Fierce' by Carmen Aguirre. His teaching responsibilities include courses on editing and publishing in both undergraduate and graduate programs at SFU.
