Professor Dr. Scott Tremaine

Biography

Scott Tremaine is a Professor in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Toronto. His research interests primarily focus on astrophysical dynamics, including the dynamics of galaxies, stellar systems, supermassive black holes, and extrasolar planets. He has made significant contributions to the understanding of solar system dynamics, planet formation, and the behavior of comets. With a Ph.D. from Princeton University obtained in 1975, Tremaine has established himself as a leading figure in astrophysics. He is actively involved in both teaching and research, guiding graduate students and collaborating with other scientists in the field. His work has been published extensively in scientific journals and he continues to contribute to advancements in our understanding of cosmic phenomena.
