Professor Scott Tyo joined the School of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Canberra in 2015. He previously served as a faculty member at the College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona from 2006 to 2015 and at the University of New Mexico (UNM) from 2001 to 2006. Tyo completed his PhD at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997 and has a rich background in research, including work with the United States Air Force (USAF) and as a military faculty member at the Naval Postgraduate School. His research interests include applied electromagnetics and optics, leading a small diverse research group focused on polarimeter design optimization and developing complex multi-dimensional modulation schemes to maximize the polarization information exploited. Tyo's research has greatly contributed to advancements in High Power Microwave Systems and Space-Based Remote Sensing, working with distinguished colleagues to develop cutting-edge technologies such as ultra-wideband (UWB) antennas and extremely electrically small antennas (EESAs). His current projects involve collaborative efforts with students to explore hybrid modulation schemes, focusing on spatial and temporal control for advanced polarimetry applications.
Includes Business Intelligence, Enterprise Systems, and Cybersecurity Management streams.
