Scott Watson received a BA in History and an MA in Political Science from the University of Waterloo, followed by a PhD from the University of British Columbia in 2006. He joined the University of Victoria in 2006 as a Professor and Undergraduate Director. Watson's current research includes re-conceptualizing human security, examining the relationship between mass media and the construction of insecurity, and exploring the roles of private corporations in these dynamics. He is also a faculty advisor for the World University Service of Canada at UVic.
