Scott Woodley graduated from the University of Bristol and then the University of Bath, eventually becoming a research associate at the Royal Institution in Great Britain where he collaborated with Professors Richard Catlow, Julian Gale, and Peter Battle. He later moved to University College London, where he established his own research group. He was elected to serve on the committee of CCP5 (twice) and on the BACG, contributing to the procurement and benchmarking of national computer resources. He has served as the deputy director of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Molecular Modelling for Materials Science (M3S) and is a Point Contact Co-Investigator for the MMM Hub Tier-2 High-Performance Computing (HPC) project. Currently, he is the Programme Director for the MSc in Materials Molecular Modeling (MMM) and serves as the Principal Investigator and chair of the Materials Chemistry Consortium, supported by EPSRC funding, and is the Director of the MMM Hub, which involves EPSRC funded Tier-2 HPC centres.
