Biography

Scott Wortley is a lecturer at Edinburgh Law School with a focus on Commercial Law. He graduated with an LLB (Honours) from the University of Edinburgh in 1994 and qualified as a solicitor in 1997 after completing his traineeship at Messrs Ketchen Stevens, WS. Currently, he is engaged in legislative history research regarding the Prescription and Limitation (Scotland) Act 1973 and has authored numerous publications, including substantial contributions to Professor McDonald's Conveyancing Manual. Scott's research interests lie in rights of security, property law, and the legislative process, with particular attention to floating charges and statutory interpretation. He has supervised PhD students and welcomes inquiries related to postgraduate research in property and commercial law.
