Biography

Sean Delany is an Adjunct Professor of Law at New York University School of Law, where he teaches the Business Law Transactions Clinic. This clinic allows business lawyers to work with organizational clients, primarily representing nonprofit organizations in transactional corporate governance projects. Delany is also the Executive Director of the Lawyers Alliance for New York, a leading provider of pro bono business legal services to community development organizations and nonprofit groups in New York City. He oversees a team of in-house attorneys, specialists, and more than 1400 volunteer lawyers from over 100 leading law firms and corporations. Delany's previous roles include Legal Director at Lawyers Alliance and Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Charities Bureau of the New York Attorney General's office. He has served as President of the Board of Directors for the National Association of State Charities Officials and as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Bronxworks, Inc. Additionally, he has advised the IRS on tax-exempt organizations as a member of the Advisory Committee for Tax Exempt Government Entities.
