Dr. Sean Docking

Biography

Sean Docking is a Senior Research Fellow specializing in Musculoskeletal Health within the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University. His research primarily revolves around health economics and health services, aiming to enhance economic evaluations in musculoskeletal health. In this role, he leads the development of practical tools for conducting economic evaluations of trials, prominently serving as co-chair for the Economic Methods Group of the NHMRC-funded Australian New Zealand Musculoskeletal Clinical Trials Network. His contributions have resulted in notable publications and policy-relevant research, such as the evaluation of non-surgical management programs which gained significant media attention and informed critical policy initiatives. Additionally, Sean has undertaken various economic evaluations funded by esteemed organizations including HCF Research Foundation and SaferCare Victoria. He holds a Master's in Health Economics from Deakin University and a PhD from Monash University, where he focused on tendon pathology and ultrasound tissue characterization. His research interests also span healthcare market analyses, cost-effectiveness analysis, and the implications of private equity in healthcare.
