Sean Hansen completed undergraduate studies in Biology at Brigham Young University, graduating magna cum laude. He obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following medical school, Dr. Hansen completed an internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and subsequently an Ophthalmology residency at the University of Michigan's Kellogg Eye Center. After residency, he practiced in private practice in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he gained further experience in cataract surgery and laser-assisted cataract surgery. In 2021, Dr. Hansen returned to the Kellogg Eye Center as a Clinical Assistant Professor. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has clinical interests in comprehensive eye care, medical and surgical treatment of eye diseases, cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease. Dr. Hansen employs the latest technology, including laser-assisted cataract surgery and advanced intraocular lens implants. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, enjoys spending time with his wife and sons, and loves exploring the outdoors and playing sports.
