Dr. Sean Ingham

Biography

Sean Ingham studies political theory with a focus on questions of democracy. His research delves into topics such as popular control, domination, freedom, majority rule, mechanisms of democratic backsliding, voter ignorance, and electoral accountability. Ingham received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard University in 2012 and holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which he completed in 2004. He joined the faculty at the University of California, San Diego in 2017, after serving as an assistant professor in Political Science at the University of Georgia. Ingham's work contributes to the understanding of democratic processes and the intricacies involved in maintaining democracy in contemporary political environments.
