Biography

Sean Kheraj is an associate professor in the Department of History at Toronto Metropolitan University, where he also serves as the Vice-Provost Academic. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of British Columbia (Honors), a Master of Arts in History from York University, and a PhD in History from York University. His teaching and research focus on Canadian environmental history, exploring themes such as oil pipeline development in Canada, urban animals, and nineteenth-century Canadian cities. Kheraj is the author of 'Inventing Stanley Park: Environmental History' and co-editor of 'Traces Animal Past: Methodological Challenges in Animal History.' He has received several accolades for his scholarly work, including the 2007 Article Prize from the Canadian Historical Review, the 2014 Clio Prize for Book from the Canadian Historical Association, and the 2020 Petroleum History Society Article Year Award.
