Biography

Sean Munson is a Professor in the Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington, where he focuses on the intersections of health, well-being, and information technology. His work is centered on designing and evaluating techniques that aid individuals in making sense of data, with an emphasis on collaboration and coordination across diverse expertise. Munson is also the Associate Chair for Faculty & Research Development within his department and is a member of the DUB group, contributing to innovative research in human-computer interaction and social computing. Munson holds a PhD from the University of Michigan's School of Information, where he explored the use of software in fostering positive behavior changes, and was recognized as a National Science Foundation Early Career Award recipient. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a concentration in Systems Design from Olin College.
