Professor Dr. Sebastien Foulquier

Biography

Sebastien Foulquier leads an experimental research group focused on understanding vascular-glial interplay and its relevance to Cerebral Small Vessel Disease (cSVD), a common form of Vascular Cognitive Impairment. His research aims to gain insights into the pathobiology of cSVD to identify critical molecular and cellular targets that could help prevent or delay the progression of this condition. He specializes in various techniques including animal models, pharmacology, advanced histology, in vivo imaging, confocal microscopy, as well as studying the blood-brain barrier and neurovascular coupling. His expertise extends to key cellular players like microglia, pericytes, and oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs).
