Sébastien Sauvé is a professor in environmental chemistry at the Université de Montréal since 2001. He leads a team of about fifteen students and researchers focusing on the environmental fate, mobility, and bioavailability of 'traditional' contaminants such as lead, arsenic, and cadmium, as well as emerging compounds like pharmaceuticals and nanoparticles. With over a hundred scientific articles and book chapters to his credit, Sauvé’s research expertise includes analyzing contaminants, chemical speciation, and environmental impacts. He completed his Ph.D. in soil chemistry from Cornell University, after gaining practical experience in environmental quality consulting. Sauvé's academic journey included studying environmental and health sciences at the Collège de Maisonneuve and obtaining a bachelor's degree in Soil Science from McGill University's Macdonald campus. Over the years, he has worked on various research projects including the ecological impact of agricultural practices and the assessment of contaminant mobility in different environmental matrices.
