Professor Dr. Sébastien Tutenges

Biography

Sébastien Tutenges is a Professor at the Danish School of Education, Aarhus University. His research focuses on understanding social problems, specifically in relation to alcohol, drugs, sex work, nightlife, and the nuances of street culture. He delves into topics such as drug dealing, violence, and the experiences of individuals in relation to intoxication, extremism, and war, using ethnographic and mixed-methods research methodologies. His studies often involve immersive fieldwork in diverse environments including nightclubs, prisons, music festivals, and drug markets. Additionally, he has worked on projects regarding soldiers and veterans, exploring themes of profession, well-being, and learning. Over recent years, he has led and participated in various research initiatives that aim to address challenges faced by war returnees and to develop preventive strategies for social issues.
