Biography

Sedina Tsikata's research interests are fundamental nature applications of magnetized plasmas, focusing on the development of advanced diagnostics, analysis methods, and control of new plasma devices. Her research includes the applied study of instabilities, electron features, and Hall plasma thrusters relevant to space propulsion and magnetized plasma environments, including materials processing and accelerator physics. Before joining Georgia Tech in 2023, Tsikata was a researcher at CNRS (the National Center for Scientific Research) in France. She holds graduate degrees from Ecole Polytechnique in France and a bachelor's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her work has contributed significantly to propulsion and combustion disciplines through research collaborations with the Plasma Instrumentation Engineering Research (PIER) Laboratory and the Carbon Neutral Energy Solutions Lab.
