Biography

Seidon Alsaody is an Associate Professor at Uppsala University specializing in algebra and algebraic geometry. His research focuses on various aspects of algebraic groups, group schemes, exceptional groups, and nonassociative algebras. He began teaching in 2006 and has taught a variety of mathematics courses for scientists and engineers in Uppsala, Gothenburg, and Canada. Alsaody obtained his PhD in mathematics from Uppsala University in 2015 and held a postdoc at the Institut Camille Jordan in France. He continued his research at the University of Alberta, Canada, supported by the PIMS. He has received several teaching awards, including the Pedagogical Award from Uppsala Union Engineering Science Students in 2020 and the Distinguished Teaching Award in 2021 from the Vice-Chancellor of Uppsala University. Additionally, he has been recognized as a Distinguished University Teacher in 2022 and achieved the status of Docent in 2023. Alsaody is also a member of the Council for Educational Development in the Faculty of Science and Technology.
