Biography

Selçuk Bedük is an interdisciplinary researcher with a background in economics. He completed his DPhil in Social Policy at the University of Oxford in 2018, with a thesis focused on poverty measurement in the EU. His research interests primarily include poverty, inequality, and social policy, particularly how these issues are related to life course and intergenerational transmission. Selçuk's current research examines the intergenerational persistence of homeownership in Europe, supported by a grant from the Volkswagen Foundation, as well as the long-term impacts of childhood poverty in Britain, funded by the John Fell Fund. He has previously served as a Senior Research Officer at the Institute for Social and Economic Research at the University of Essex.
