Biography

Selin Damla Ahipasaoglu is a Professor of Operational Research at the University of Southampton in the School of Mathematical Sciences, where she has been active since July 2020. Before joining Southampton, she served as a Visiting Faculty member at the National University of Singapore and as an Assistant Professor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. She also completed a Postdoctoral Researcher position at the London School of Economics and Princeton University. Selin received her PhD in Operations Research and Information Engineering from Cornell University in 2009, and she holds BSc and MSc degrees in Industrial Engineering from Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. Her research interests primarily focus on Convex Optimization, Robust Optimization, and Discrete Choice Theory applications, with ongoing projects in personalized pathway management for acquired brain injury and paediatric rehabilitation through Markov models. Additionally, she has been involved in projects aimed at improving mathematical education within the gig economy.
