Biography

Serafeim Tsoukas joined the Adam Smith Business School in January 2011 after serving as an Economic and Social Research Council postdoctoral fellow at the University of Nottingham. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham and additional degrees in Finance and Economics from the Universities of Nottingham (MSc) and Patras (BSc). Tsoukas has held visiting research positions at various prestigious institutions, including the Bank for International Settlements, the Bank of Portugal, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and Columbia Business School. As a member of the Finance research cluster, his areas of expertise include corporate finance, bank lending, firm performance, and credit risk modeling. In addition to his research, he has been involved in various funding grants including the Early Career Engagement Grant from SIRE and has served as an Associate Editor for Economic Modelling. Tsoukas is also an external examiner for MSc programmes at the University of Bath and participates in external appointment and promotion committees for the University of Essex.
