Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Sergei Kazarian. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Sergei Kazarian's principal research interests are in advanced vibrational spectroscopy and molecular interactions, specifically in the context of materials processing. He develops Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic chemical imaging methods and applies them to areas such as materials characterization, pharmaceuticals, drug delivery, biomedical samples, microfluidics, high-throughput analysis, dynamic systems, nanostructured materials, and forensic science analysis of cultural heritage objects. His research also encompasses applications of Raman spectroscopy in polymeric biomedical materials, depth profiling, confocal Raman microscopy, and nanoscale imaging through tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy. Currently, he is focused on spectroscopic imaging of live cancer cells and tissues to advance healthcare diagnostics and collaborates closely with neurosurgeons at Charing Cross Hospital. He is actively involved in the CLIRSPEC initiative.
