Dr. Sergey Fomin

Biography

Sergey Fomin is the Richard P. Stanley Distinguished University Professor at the University of Michigan in the Department of Mathematics. His primary research interests lie in Combinatorics and Algebra, particularly in the areas of algebraic geometry and applications of these fields. Over the past decade, his research has focused on cluster algebras, which are endowed with a rich combinatorial structure. Additionally, he investigates combinatorial approaches to incidence geometry, distance geometry, and the study of real algebraic curves.
