Dr. Sergey Kravchenko

Biography

Sergey Kravchenko is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering at the University of British Columbia. He earned his Ph.D. from Purdue University. His research predominantly focuses on the development of high-performance polymer-based composites for sustainable mobility applications. Sergey works on interface materials engineering, structural mechanics, and manufacturing processes, with a keen interest in multi-functional composites and additive manufacturing. He emphasizes the importance of computational tools in aiding the understanding of complex phenomena involved in the manufacturing of composite materials. Sergey explores stochastic simulations and deep learning methods to optimize manufacturing systems and enhance the performance of composites.
