Biography

Sergey Radchenko is the Wilson E. Schmidt Distinguished Professor at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies in Bologna, where he also serves as the Director of the Bologna Institute for Policy Research. He has garnered an international reputation for his research on the Cold War, with a particular focus on Sino-Soviet relations and Soviet foreign policies. His published works include influential studies on North Korea, Mongolia, contemporary international politics in East Central Asia, and Russian foreign policy, among others. In addition to his academic contributions, Radchenko has served as a Global Fellow and Public Policy Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C., and as a Zi Jiang Distinguished Professor at East China Normal University in Shanghai. His research interests currently center around global history during the Cold War. Radchenko is known for being a frequent contributor to major media outlets, including The New York Times and Foreign Policy.
