Biography

Sergii Strelchuk is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford. His research interests focus on quantum algorithms, exploring their applications particularly in bioinformatics, alongside classical simulation methods and the theory of quantum complexity. He leads several significant projects, including the Wellcome Leap 'Human Pathogen Quantum Pangenomics' initiative. In addition, he has been involved in high-profile collaborations, such as those with the Sanger Institute, where he works on utilizing quantum computing for genomic challenges. Strelchuk's background includes being a Royal Society University Research Fellow and a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow, both at the University of Cambridge.
